DNS Monitors

Created on 5 September, 2025Tutorials • 290 views

What it does: Detects changes in DNS records (A/AAAA/CNAME/MX/TXT, etc.) and alerts when values differ from what you expect.

Quick setup

  1. Go to DNS monitors → Create monitor.
  2. Enter the domain (e.g., example.com) and select record type(s).
  3. Specify the expected value (IP, hostname, TXT content) or lock the current value.
  4. Set interval and alert contacts, then save.

Examples

A record

Host: example.com

Expected: 203.0.113.10

Interval: 5 min

Tips

  1. Monitor both example.com and www.example.com if both resolve.
  2. Use a slightly longer interval for DNS due to propagation delays.
  3. Changes log helps with audits and security reviews.
